Sometime before 1964, Tom Burton Sr., the owner of 20 acres of cotton fields. He cultivated his property with 2 mules name Hattie and Toe. Tom Burton Jr. did not like the idea of his father walking behind two animals which later got away from him, but he was not hurt. The two mules ran for more than 20 miles before they were caught.
Thus, Tom Burton Sr. bought a John Deere tractor to continue to work his land. Others needed their land to be cultivated, which led to his rendering of services to other land owners. From that in 1964, Tom Burton Jr. started Burton’s Trash Service, clearing land, trees and bushes. Continuing with the legacy of Tom Burton Jr., two of his offspring, Clarence Burton and Craig Burton, proudly serves the communities in which they work and live as it is known today Burton’s Trash and Demolition.
